Take from me these broken words spoke in bated, hated breath. Still left unstirred, each memory; still biting, always fresh. A burning blade to tender flesh, what has failed and ruined me. Take what keeps me cold, alone, awake and feeling weak. What cannot save, what cannot heal the scars, the pain, I cannot feel. Take from me each utterance spoke in harshness and with fear. In self defense each needing, wanting whispered word you hear. My arrogance, my foolish pride each wasted selfish, useless lie. We're all still lost, we all still die… Let love not be in vain.

There is no single, unimpeachable word for that vague sensation of something moving away from you, as it exceeds its expected capacity. Which is too bad, because that is the word I would like to use to describe standing here, attempting to converse with you as the awareness grows inside of me that I do not know you, in fact I never did, you are and will always remain a complete stranger to me. I have built this wall for myself, it is impenetrable. Sometimes, I lose my ability to think rationally or even get paranoid.I close my ears and act deaf to promises I am certain will be broken. Would you still look into my eyes with love even if you saw my shadows? Would you still kiss my lips even if you knew there will be times I'd let you down?
